'Five Guys Named Moe'

It's hard to go wrong with a lighthearted musical where the creative foundation is the ultra-talented Cameron Mackintosh, buttressed by the music of Louis Jordan. But Casa Mañana has pushed the creative envelope even further. It has imported gospel singer extraordinaire Zebulon Ellis to join the cast in the pivotal role of "Big Moe." The ensemble is entrusted to Billy Porter, one of Broadway’s more notable contemporary performers and directors.

Tuesday through Oct. 25 (7:30 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 7 p.m. Sunday) at Casa Mañana Theatre, 3101 W. Lancaster Ave., Fort Worth. $30-$75. 817-332-2272; www.casamanana.org.
