Bass Hall will be alive with the sounds of the von Trapp family singers
Like The Wizard of Oz and Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music is deeply woven into the country’s entertainment-pop cultural fabric. As a result, any performance associated with the legendary von Trapp family singers is bound to bring out an audience that carries its own burnished memories of the original Broadway show and movie. And so it is with this concert, where the actual great-grandchildren of the original Captain von Trapp will, with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, fill the Bass Hall with song. This generation of singing von Trapps will perform classical and folk-flavored songs, along with those instantly familiar melodies from The Sound of Music. Also, the von Trapps will weave personal yarns of their family’s adventures.
