'Sweeney Todd' opens at Casa
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Talk about a slam-dunk of musical entertainment for Casa Mañana: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, when it first came out, nabbed 10 Tonys, including best original score and best musical. Casa Mañana’s production of the show preserves all its gripping details and darkly humored plot — from its setting in grimy, Victorian-epoch London, to Sweeney’s lust for revenge, one bloody shave at a time.
