Rumorlicious: Hooters in downtown Fort Worth?

Heard a rumor that Hooters is moving into the space formerly occupied by Bennigan's in Fort Worth's Sundance Square. Inquiring eyes  minds around the office want to know: would the Bass family possibly allow it? We're checking it out and will report back soon ...

Update: Intrepid business reporter Barry Shlachter found out that The Sundance Square space formerly occupied by Bennigan's is, in fact, trying to attract a national chain. The landlord would not confirm whether Hooters is among "several offers" they're considering.

However, current Bennigan franchisees would like to buy back the space. It had been occupied by a store operated by S&A, the chain’s bankrupt parent company, not a franchisee. While company-owned stores closed down, franchised ones stayed open — and their owners would like to snap up profitable locations (like downtown Cowtown) that are shuttered and revitalize the Irish-American-themed brand.
