Billboardlive.com streaming tonight's R. Kelly concert
Preston Jones
Billboardlive.com is teaming up with Our World Live, Inc. to launch a Web-based concert series, which (lucky us) starts with tonight's R. Kelly gig at the Nokia Theatre in Grand Prairie. The show gets going at 8 p.m. -- there are a couple opening acts; R. Kelly probably won't be onstage until closer to 9 p.m. -- it will be Webcast in HD and best of all, it's free. Point your browser toward billboardlive.com and download the Owl HD player to view the show.
According to the press materials, the billboardlive.com shows are shot with five cameras, which allows for an interactive viewing experience. "Fans have the ability for the first time ever to view the concert from five different angles of their choosing, the larger, full-screen view, as well as four other views where they can replace the main image, at any time, for a unique experience - all with just the click of their mouse," so sayeth the press release.
If it works -- these things can be kinda hinky on start-up -- it'll be a nifty time-killer. The site will have a schedule of upcoming performances shortly.
