How did you get most of your music in 2008?

Star-Telegram pop music critic / DFW.com music blogger / Sound Files co-host Preston Jones saw a lot of shows and heard a lot of records in 2008. That's why I strapped him to a table and interrogated him on the year's best concerts and albums.

OK, he was more cooperative than that. Kinda.

You can see his complete Top 10 lists in the Dec. 29 edition of the Star-Telegram and online here at Star-Telegram.com. In the meantime, enjoy our conversation about those lists, and the year in music, by clicking on the player above. It goes a little something like this:

Segment 1: Hello.

Segment 2: A look at some of the year's best concerts.

Segments 3-7: A glimpse at some of the albums that made Preston's list, including works by Kanye West, Coldplay and Erykah Badu.

Segment 8: Farewell.
