Best 18+ club

Billy Bob’s Texas, Fort Worth

Billy Bob's

DFW.com/Willis Knight

Billy Bob's is the quintessential Stockyards experience, whether you're 18 or 85.

Find it: 2520 Rodeo Plaza. 817-624-7117. www.billybobstexas.com.

The club: This is a fun place to go for just about every age, but it’s especially ideal for those under 21 who are sick of spending their weekend nights at the movies or loitering outside the local Starbucks.

Even if you hate country music, “The World’s Largest Honkey Tonk” turns Top 40 near the end of each weekend night. The chance to watch cowboys in boots and spurs try to bust a move to Ludacris or Snoop Dogg is worth the price of admission alone.

Get your cowboy on, to hard-core country and even some Top 40 tunes.

Before you go you should know: TABC hands out more MIP’s than girls hand out cell numbers here. Don’t even think about touching alcohol unless you’re 21. (And, yes, they patrol the parking lot, too. Trust us, we once got busted there.)

Don't go away without also seeing: The handprint Hall of Fame, where country music legends have made their mark. And live bull riding, which is a staple on every weekend night.

Honorable mentions: Purgatory, Dallas; The Aardvark, Fort Worth.
