Tom Russell
One of singer-songwriter Tom Russell’s distinctions has been his creation of character-study cameos that populate many of his songs. Russell’s folk-country tunes are replete with all the smartly observed detail of an absorbing novel. He has been at his craft for close to 40 years, and his songs have received the ultimate validation of quality: Some have been covered by such greats as Guy Clark and Johnny Cash, among others.
