Tuesday’s Agenda: Celebrate Spears’ new cookbook, hear Steve Martin strum in Dallas
A toast with Grady Spears
Come celebrate the launch of Grady Spears and June Naylor’s latest effort by sampling some of the dishes offered in their new cookbook, Cooking the Cowboy Way. Beginning at 6:30 tonight at Grady’s Restaurant on Forest Park Boulevard, patrons will receive a cocktail, a meal, two glasses of wine and an autographed copy of the new book. A four-course meal will include appetizers such as candied bacon with goat cheese; a Mexican Ceasar salad; a main course featuring strip steaks, and a dessert of Brazosberry cream pie, among other items. The price is $95 per patron. Space is limited to approximately 75, and reservations are required. Book in advance by calling 817-922-9980, or e-mail gradyspears@
gmail.com or texastoastculinarytours@yahoo.com.
Steve Martin’s serious side
Steve Martin steps out of his movie star/comedian role and steps into his musician persona as he takes his banjo to the Meyerson Symphony Center stage in Dallas tonight with the traditional bluegrass outfit the Steep Canyon Rangers. He has been on tour and on TV with these guys, so this isn’t some one-off fling. This is one time when Martin doesn’t want you to laugh at him. $40-$100. 214-880-0202.
